Project update 5 – Beauty on the ROOF!

October 2016 – Our new roof is 99.9 percent complete and does it ever look beautiful! The copper strip capping the roof ridge and copper used in the valleys is both stunning and practical. The shingles have a copper like tone, particularly on those rainy, grey days… not that we’ve had very many of those days in the past month. The shingles were installed in September by Carbon Neutral Alternatives. They did an excellent job and we’re very happy to have the work completed as we had our first snow fall Oct. 15!

By spring 2017, the final couple of feet of copper required to finish the capping in the valleys of the roof was secured and the roof was DONE!!!!

We’re still raising funds to pay back a small loan received from the Episcopal Diocese of Alaska to complete the balance due for the roof work. Your continued support is very much appreciated!
